Dear SPFBL Family Member:
This season, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Baseball League and Intensive Therapeutics will offer a baseball program focused on children with special needs. For six weeks beginning in mid-April and concluding by early June, special needs children between the ages of 7 to 11 will be offered the opportunity to learn the game of baseball.
Under the direction of special needs therapists, volunteer SPFBL players will work to create an environment where special needs children and their families can share in the greatest game of summer, baseball! Along the way, children in the program will learn the game, understand the importance of belonging to a team, improve their social skills, but most importantly, have fun! Games will be played on the Tee-Ball field of St. Bartholomew’s Church on Sunday's from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.
The league is looking for active SPFBL players to volunteer and be part of the experience. These volunteers will work with coaches and staff as ‘junior coaches’ to help teach the game. To volunteer, players must be in at least 5th grade and available for a minimum of three Sundays from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.
If you or your child is interested in volunteering, please send an email to Jamie Tannenbaum at: email@example.com. If you would like to learn more about Intensive Therapeutics, please contact them directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
